Web Site Design & Development

Graphic design has always been my passion and career goal. I decided in my 9th grade printing class that I was to be a graphic designer. Immediately after high school, I began a design program at a 4-year university. I now hold a BFA in Graphic Design and have been working full-time as a designer since 1994 (before I even graduated). I learned HTML shortly after college, around 1996, and have been doing primarily Web design and development ever since.

I work a full-time day job but also take on the occasional freelance project. I am currently pursuing several Web design, development and programming certifications. Other than design, my primary areas of Web development expertise are in HTML/CSS coding, project management and information architecture.

I developed a passion for photography while in college, which has only grown since the digital era began. I'm not at all interested in pursuing photography professionally, except when needed for a particular project I'm designing; otherwise, it's just a hobby for me. My primary interest is in portraiture. I enjoy the challenge of bringing out the personality of a person in a visually striking way. I am working on setting up a portrait studio at home where I will photograph friends and family, for those who feel that the "mall" portrait studios don't suit their style. I also take photos of inanimate objects when no people are available. I love cats, but I hate photographing cats. I'll post some of my work here soon.

I'm also quite well known (amongst friends and family) for my hand-made greeting cards. Each design takes me 2-3 hours and several dollars worth of materials, so please don't ask if I would sell them; I would have to charge $50 per card. :) Samples of those will also appear here soon, just so I can show them off.
